Vale of Kashmir by Robert S. Duncanson is a luminous landscape painting depicting the scenic valley in northern India. Duncanson, the first African American artist to achieve international acclaim as a landscape painter, traveled widely and brought a distinctive sensitivity to light and atmosphere to his work.
